Marcus McGillivray is a dedicated civil litigation attorney with a primary focus on insurance defense and complex construction defect matters. A graduate of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, Marcus has been practicing law for over five years, representing clients in a broad range of disputes.
His construction litigation experience includes defending general contractors and developers in lawsuits involving luxury single-family homes, multi-family residential projects, and commercial developments, as well as premises liability claims. Beyond construction, Marcus has significant experience handling commercial transportation cases, catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death claims, subrogation matters, and contract disputes. He has served as first-chair trial counsel, represented contractors in Arizona Registrar of Contractor hearings, handled appeals, argued motions, and mediated numerous cases—always striving to develop efficient and effective litigation strategies that protect his clients’ interests.
Marcus’ approach to legal advocacy is rooted in a deep understanding of his clients’ industries, business practices, and priorities. His appreciation for client-focused representation was first developed as a criminal defense attorney, where he fought to ensure vulnerable individuals were not marginalized by the justice system. That commitment to understanding and addressing each client’s unique needs continues to drive his practice today.
Marcus earned his undergraduate degree in English from Grand Canyon University. He is a member of the Arizona State Bar and the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel.
Outside of work, Marcus enjoys hiking, swimming, fly fishing, and reading.
